Located in the heart of Portland's pet-friendly Eastside, our 2,000 sq. ft. facility features private grooming stations, a designated puppy area, and a soothing music system to keep our furry clients calm and comfortable. We work with small groups and maintain a low-stress environment—never rushing, always prioritizing your dog's wellbeing.

It depends on your dog's breed and coat type. Dogs with longer coats or double coats (like Labs or Doodles) typically need grooming every 6-8 weeks. Short-haired breeds may only need it every 8-12 weeks. We recommend a free consultation to determine the right schedule for your pup. Regular grooming also keeps their skin and coat healthier.
Absolutely. All Barkleaf grooming products are hypoallergenic, sulfate-free, and gentle enough for puppies as young as 8 weeks (after their first vaccination series) and for senior dogs of any age. We customize product selection based on age, skin sensitivity, and health conditions. For puppies, we also offer dedicated low-stress socialization baths.
We have experience working with anxious and reactive dogs. Our low-stress grooming environment, one-on-one attention, and calm approach help many dogs feel safe. We recommend scheduling a pre-appointment chat with our lead groomer to discuss your dog's specific needs. For very fearful pups, we offer short, gradual sessions to build confidence over time.
Not currently, but we're exploring mobile services for 2025. Our salon facility is designed specifically for stress-free grooming with temperature control, soundproofing, and dedicated puppy areas. We're happy to discuss scheduling options or note your interest for when we launch mobile services.
We require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a 50% booking fee. We understand emergencies happen—just give us a call. If you need to reschedule, we'll do our best to accommodate your new preferred date within two weeks of your original appointment.
